Job Description

Transylvania County Schools seeks a Payroll and Employee Benefits Manager. Position is available May 18, 2026. 

Position is full-time and includes employment benefits; 12-month employment term.

Salary: State base salary schedule, Grade 68 and Range $3,467 - $4,380, plus a 6.75% annual local salary supplement.

Applicants for the position must hold a Bachelor's in Accounting or a related field or an equivalent level of work experience. 

Description of job duties:
Managing and overseeing payroll and employee benefits for 9 schools and multiple departments with over 500 employees. Finalize and check payroll for errors monthly. Balance deduction registers and post respective registers to various vendor sites. Enter longevity, supplements, summer pay, various bonuses, raises, and retro pay as needed. Assist with payroll reports as needed.
