Description: Roseville Area Schools has a vacancy for a full-time Blind/Visually Impaired Accessibility Assistant. The Blind/Visually Impaired (BVI) Accessibility Assistant provides specialized support to students with visual impairments by ensuring equitable access to instructional materials, assistive technology, and learning environments, while promoting independence, inclusion, and academic success. Working under the direction of the Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TBVI), this role supports the preparation of accessible materials and instructional settings aligned with student needs as outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Individual Family Service Plans (IFSPs). This itinerant position involves traveling to assigned school sites to provide direct and indirect services and deliver accessible materials. This position is for the 2026/2027 school year and is set to begin on September 1, 2026.
Qualifications:
- Two year or four year degree
- Experience working with braille and students with visual impairments
- Must have completed the UEB Online: Literacy Module 1 or be enrolled in the program
- Must have completed the NLS UEB Braille Certification Program or be enrolled in the program
Compensation: Starting salary range is $20.60 - $39.11 per hour, plus a district contribution towards benefits.
