Varsity Offensive Line and Track, Core Subject Teacher Coach

Reports to: Athletic Director - Campus Principal
Position Overview
Greenville ISD is seeking a motivated and student-centered Varsity Offensive Line and Track, Core Subject Teacher Coach to support and develop the athletic program at Greenville High School while providing high-quality classroom instruction in a core academic area. This position plays a key role in promoting athletic excellence, leadership, teamwork, discipline, and academic success among student-athletes.
Primary Purpose
Assist in the coordination and development of the varsity football program with primary responsibilities for offensive line development while supporting the track program and providing effective classroom instruction aligned with district curriculum and the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS).
Qualifications
Education / Certification:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred
- Valid Texas teaching certificate required
- Core academic certification preferred (English, Math, Science, or Social Studies)
- Valid coaching certification in accordance with UIL requirements
- CDL or ability to obtain preferred
Special Knowledge / Skills:
- Knowledge of UIL rules, regulations, and athletic policies
- Strong understanding of offensive line fundamentals, blocking schemes, player development, and conditioning
- Knowledge of track and field fundamentals and coaching strategies
- Ability to organize practices, drills, and skill development activities
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to serve as a positive role model for student-athletes
Experience:
- Previous successful coaching experience in football preferred
- Offensive line coaching experience preferred
- Experience coaching track preferred
- Teaching experience at the secondary level preferred
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Athletic Program Support
- Assist with all aspects of the varsity football program with primary focus on offensive line development
- Develop and implement offensive line drills, techniques, and game preparation strategies
- Coach and support the track program as assigned by the Athletic Director
- Promote discipline, teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, and character development among student-athletes
Student-Athlete Support
- Monitor academic progress, eligibility, and conduct of student-athletes
- Promote accountability, positive decision-making, and leadership skills
- Ensure supervision and safety of athletes during practices, games, travel, and events
- Communicate program expectations and team guidelines to students and parents
Operations & Compliance
- Assist with scheduling, transportation, athletic events, and program logistics
- Maintain inventory and proper care of uniforms, equipment, and facilities
- Ensure compliance with UIL, TEA, district, and athletic department policies
- Assist with supervision of locker rooms, practice areas, weight rooms, and athletic facilities
Instructional Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver instruction aligned with TEKS and district curriculum in assigned core subject area
- Maintain a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment
- Monitor student academic progress and provide support as needed
- Participate in PLCs, professional development, and campus meetings
Collaboration & Professional Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with coaching staff, teachers, administrators, and athletic personnel
- Participate in professional development and coaching clinics
- Support campus and district initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director or campus administration
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Assist in supervision of student managers and student-athletes as assigned

- Frequent standing, walking, running, lifting, and demonstration of athletic skills
Environmental Factors:
- Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Mental Demands:
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and maintain emotional control
- Ability to perform effectively in competitive and high-pressure situations
- Ability to work extended and irregular hours during athletic seasons
