Job Description
FOR THIS TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT, STATE LAW REQUIRES A NATIONAL AND STATE CRIMINAL HISTORY BACKGROUND CHECK AND HAVE A LETTER, PROVIDED BY THE INDIVIDUAL, FROM THE CABINET FOR HEALTH AND FAMILY SERVICES STATING THE EMPLOYEE IS CLEAR TO HIRE BASED ON NO FINDINGS OF SUBSTANTIATED CHILD ABUSE OR NEGLECT FOUND THROUGH A BACKGROUND CHECK OF CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT RECORDS MAINTAINED BY THE CABINET FOR HEALTH AND FAMILY SERVICES AS A CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A baccalaureate degree in speech language pathology from a regionally accredited institution in communication sciences or disorders or its equivalent.
- Professional experience under the supervision of an appropriately qualified supervisor.
- Valid driver's license.
- Licensed as a speech language pathology assistant by the Kentucky Board of Speech Language Pathology.
- Must meet the requirements of a criminal record check as specified by Kentucky State Law
- Must meet health requirements as specified in the district personnel policy
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of the Admissions & Release Committee, screen, assess and identify students with communication disorders which adversely affect their educational progress. Develop and provide direct and indirect services within the student's educational setting, based on established IEP goals and objectives
