Cafe Barista

Assistant General Manager
Job Summary:
The Cafe Barista is responsible for providing excellent guest service while preparing and serving high-quality coffee, espresso beverages, and food items in a fast-paced cafe environment. This position helps create a welcoming atmosphere for guests while maintaining cleanliness, organization, and efficiency throughout the cafe.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and other beverages according to company standards
- Provide friendly and professional guest service
- Take guest orders accurately and process payments
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe, equipment, and seating areas
- Restock supplies, cups, syrups, food items, and merchandise as needed
- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards
- Assist with opening and closing duties
- Monitor product quality and presentation
- Maintain knowledge of menu items and promotions
- Assist guests with questions and recommendations
- Work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining positive guest interactions
- Help minimize waste and maintain proper inventory levels
Qualifications:
- Previous customer service experience preferred
- Previous barista or cafe experience preferred
- Starbucks experience is highly preferred and considered a strong plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and multitasking skills
- Basic cash handling and POS experience preferred
- Flexible schedule including mornings, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to safely operate coffee and cafe equipment
