Primary Purpose:
Works with all stakeholders, including local and state governmental entities, on behalf of the district. Attends Planning and Zoning Commission, City Council, Commissioner's Court, and TXDOT meetings as necessary to advance school district initiatives. Performs due diligence and works with developers and brokers to identify and acquire land for future school building sites. Reviews plans for compliance with applicable development regulations and standards. Works with other district personnel to plan for future school sites and district zoning. Meets with property owners and consultants concerning development of bond projects including acquisition of required easements and rights- of-way. Reviews engineering plan submissions to ensure best practices are met.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management. (Master's preferred)
Registered Professional Engineer in Texas
10+ years experience in related field.
Knowledge of current construction and engineering practices.
Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions
Ability to follow instructions, safety practices and standard operating procedures in performing assigned tasks.
Ability to read, interpret, and evaluate construction drawings, contract documents, technical specifications, title reports, easement and right-of-way documents, and technical reports
Ability to interpret and apply City, State and Federal requirements as they apply to capital projects.
Oversee the engineering aspects of new school facilities including site planning and feasibility, design and technical oversight, infrastructure and traffic coordination and regulatory management.
