Job Description
Summary
The Project Management Director, Commercial is a senior execution leader and organizational driver responsible for accelerating Aspen Surgical’s highest-priority cross-functional programs. Residing within the Commercial organization, this role engages regularly with commercial leadership and the C-suite to ensure that strategic priorities are translated into disciplined, time-bound action. The Director will own the coordination and forward momentum of complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives spanning product development, commercial operations, launch readiness, and portfolio management — influencing functions across the organization while remaining anchored in commercial enablement. This is a change-oriented role requiring an established leader who can create structure from ambiguity, drive pace in a fast-moving environment, and build the cross-functional credibility needed to move critical company priorities forward.
In This Position, You Will Have the Opportunity To
Serve as the primary execution leader for Aspen Surgical's highest-priority cross-functional programs — spanning product development, commercial operations, portfolio transitions, and customer-facing initiatives — with accountability for pace, structure, and outcomes.
Partner directly with commercial leadership and the C-suite to translate strategic priorities into integrated program plans, ensuring clear milestones, defined owners, and transparent accountability at every level of the organization.
Drive momentum across complex, multi-functional initiatives by surfacing risks early, accelerating decision-making, and sustaining forward progress across organizational boundaries and between teams.
Influence and align senior stakeholders across QA/RA, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Sales without direct authority — building trust through credibility, clear communication, and disciplined program structure.
Establish and lead cross-functional governance: define meeting cadence, escalation paths, status reporting, key performance metrics, and program documentation that create consistent visibility and accountability from the working level through executive leadership.
Act as an organizational change agent — identifying where structural, process, or accountability gaps are limiting execution velocity, and driving the interventions needed to unblock progress and build durable operating discipline.
Support core commercial enablement functions including launch readiness, portfolio transitions, customer continuity, and sales support programs that require coordinated execution across multiple teams and functional areas.
Develop and maintain executive-ready program reporting and communications that accurately represent status, risk, and decisions required — enabling leadership to act with confidence and speed.
Build strong, trust-based relationships with functional leads and mid-level managers to sustain execution momentum across concurrent programs and create a culture of follow-through.
What You Need to Succeed in This Position
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or PMP certification strongly preferred.
8–10+ years of progressive project or program management experience, with demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional initiatives in a medical device or similarly regulated industry.
Established track record managing technical and commercial programs concurrently, including product development cycles, regulatory-sensitive timelines, and customer-facing launch and portfolio activities.
Proven ability to operate and communicate at the executive level — structuring and delivering program reporting and recommendations to C-suite leadership and driving decisions at the highest levels of the organization.
Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to align functions with competing priorities around shared program objectives and build influence without authority.
Strong understanding of medical device commercial operations, including product lifecycle management, supply chain transitions, customer engagement, and sales support — with the ability to navigate regulated environments with confidence.
Demonstrated ability to create pace and accountability in complex, matrixed organizations where direct authority is limited — leading through structure, credibility, and relationship.
High comfort with ambiguity; able to define clear plans, priorities, and governance structures from broadly defined mandates and evolving organizational needs.
Deep organizational awareness and interpersonal acuity; able to read stakeholder dynamics, navigate competing agendas, and drive alignment without creating friction.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluent in translating program complexity into clear, executive-ready narratives, presentations, and decision documents.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project) a plus.
