Credentials: Current Oklahoma Teacher Certificate
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field from college/university recognized by State Board of Education
Training or experience required: 2 years of teaching experience in Career Tech; Administrative experience preferred
Reports to: Director of Secondary Teaching and Learning
Contract: 210 days
Salary Schedule: Certified Salary Schedule
FLSA Classification: Exempt
The Career and Technology Academic Integration Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing academic programs that integrate career and technology education into the broader curriculum, as well as provide career relevant resources to help guide student career exploration. This role involves collaborating with educators, administrators, parents, students and industry partners to ensure that students acquire relevant skills and knowledge to succeed in a technology-driven workforce. The specialist will focus on creating, monitoring and enhancing pathways that link academic learning with career readiness and technological competencies.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide professional development to support the design and implementation of interdisciplinary curriculum that integrates career and technology education with traditional academic subjects.
- Oversee/support the implementation of ICAP and Graduation Pathway work at the school site and provide feedback to improve ICAP and Graduation Pathway services provided to students.
- Provide professional development to develop lesson plans and instructional materials that incorporate career and technology competencies.
- Oversee the integration of career and technology programs into existing academic frameworks.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of integrated programs and make recommendations for improvements.
- Provide training and support for educators on best practices for integrating career and technology education into their teaching.
- Organize workshops, seminars, and professional learning opportunities for staff.
- Organize workshops, seminars, and learning opportunities for students.
- Build and maintain partnerships with local businesses, industry professionals, and community organizations to enhance educational programs and provide real-world experiences for students.
- Facilitate internships, mentorships, and other experiential learning opportunities in collaboration with industry partners.
- Assist in developing career exploration and technology education resources for students.
- Provide guidance and support for students in selecting career paths and pursuing relevant educational opportunities.
- Develop and implement assessment tools to measure the impact of career and technology integration on student learning and career readiness.
- Provide/oversee individualized career counseling to help students identify their interests, strengths, and career goals. Assist students in understanding how different career paths align with their academic and personal aspirations.
- Oversee, create and implement site ICAP activities - aide in the development and maintenance of a system framework for College and Career Exploration for grades 9-12
- Analyze and present workplace data
- Complete SREB surveys with fidelity and present findings to site leadership
- Utilize and interpret career assessment tools and inventories to help students make informed decisions about their career and educational choices.
- Create and maintain up-to-date resources such as career guides, technology toolkits, and job market trends to support student learning and career planning.
- Use feedback and assessment data to make informed adjustments to programs and support services, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of students.
- Analyze data and generate reports to track program success and student outcomes.
- Oversee and monitor the financial aspects impacting student success in career technology coursework/programs.
- Stay current with trends and advancements in career and technology education.
- Introduce new strategies and technologies to enhance program effectiveness and relevance.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Designee.
