Job Title: Principal
Location: Lincoln Elementary School
FLSA: Exempt
Salary: $100,000- $115,000
Terms of Employment: 12 months ( July 1 - June 30)
Insurance: Medical/ Dental/ Vision and Life
Benefits: TRS Contribution, Sick, Personal and Vacation
Reports to: Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning
Summary: The school Principal is directly responsible to the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning for the operation of the instructional program within his/her building(s). The Principal is charged with the duty of carrying out the school district policies and administrative regulations in is/her building(s). In addition, a majority of the Principal's time will be devoted to the provision of instructional leadership in planning, coordinating, operating and evaluation the educational program.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Minimum of an earned master's degree from an accredited institution.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years teaching experience, with at least 2 years of experience in a low-income, high-needs secondary school.
- License: Meet all licensure requirements as identified by the ISBE.
- Evidence of successful completion and passage of Teacher and Principal Evaluation Modules.
Responsibilities and Essential Functions: The following duties are representative of performance expectations. A reasonable accommodation may be made to enable a qualified individual with a disability to perform essential functions.
- Supervision of personnel assigned to his/her building with the goal of improvement of instruction and advancement of student achievement.
- Development and implementation of clearly articulated statement of mission through which all personnel assigned to his/her building share the understanding of, and commitment to instructional goals, priorities, assessment and accountability.
- Monitoring, supervision and evaluation of teacher implementation of district curriculum expectation.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise various employees: Assistant Principal, Office Staff, Teachers, Students and Educational Support Staff Personnel. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

- Subject to stress caused by a changing environment, tight deadlines and heavy workload.
- Be able to sit for long periods of time without a break.

- Accidents improbable outside of minor injuries, such as cuts, scrapes, or bruises.

- Primarily require working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
