Job Title: Interventionist (Part-Time)
Reports to: Campus Principal
Works with: Campus Personnel & Students Pay Garde: Part-Time Position
Dept./L Campus Assigned
Primary Purpose:
Primarily responsible for assisting teachers with the planning and implementation of the District's approved curriculum, instructional programs and strategies for core areas.
Prerequisites:
- Texas Teacher certificate in assigned core area.

- Ability to write well
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Regularly review student profiles/class progress.
- Review data to determine student academic needs in the core area (s)
- Review and monitor student assessment data and progress.
- Meet regularly with students and teachers to review progress/student information/interventions.
- Work with small groups of students (5-10) needing interventions for 40-50 minutes, 4-5 times a week.
- Modify instruction and intervention based on assessment data.
- Develop and implement a detailed lesson plan that reflects the needs of the students being served.
- Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles.
- Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.
- Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
