Job Description
The Assistant Director of Compliance provides senior-level operational leadership for a comprehensive, multi-state compliance, contracting, and risk management program supporting Vanderbilt University School of Nursing (VUSN) clinical education activities. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day compliance operations, monitoring regulatory requirements, and leading internal quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes related to clinical placements, contracts, licensure, and accreditation.
The Assistant Director of Compliance serves as the primary operational lead for compliance activities while working under the guidance and final authority of the Assistant Dean for Clinical Affairs, who provides legal oversight, interpretation, and final approval for high-risk or complex compliance matters. This role ensures that compliance processes are consistently executed, risks are identified early, and issues are escalated appropriately to protect the institution.
