Secondary Curriculum & Instructional Coach

Oxford Education & Innovation Campus

2026-27 School Year

Primary Function: Provide expertise, support, training, and professional development to Oxford Education & Innovation Campus staff and students in the area of curriculum and instruction.

Qualifications – Education & Experience:

  1. Michigan Teacher Certification required.
  2. Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree is preferred.
  3. Instructional coaching experience preferred.
  4. Three (3) years of successful teaching experience, preferred.
  5. Understanding of and experience in adult learning and professional development design.
  6. Evidence of strong professional development in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment is desirable.
  7. Excellent interpersonal skills and a self-starter.
  8. Strong written and oral communication skills.
  9. Strong planning, training, and organizational skills.
  10. Knowledge of technology, hardware and software.
  11. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and G Suite.
  12. Experience with PowerSchool, preferred.
  13. Ability to plan and organize workload and keep accurate records.
  14. High level of motivation in the areas of problem-solving, educational innovation, and teaching and learning.
  15. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Curriculum & Coaching Support

  1. Support curriculum development, writing, and auditing processes across schools to ensure alignment with state standards, district strategic plan, and instructional vision.
  2. Coordinate and facilitate curriculum pilots when applicable, including planning, implementation support, monitoring, and evaluation of pilot outcomes.
  3. Support the enhancement and quality assurance of Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 curricula to meet diverse learner needs.
  4. Create comprehensive resources, guidelines, and frameworks to support teachers in effective curriculum design and implementation.
  5. Evaluate and recommend instructional resources and curriculum materials based on school and teacher needs.
  6. Ensure equitable, high-quality learning experiences for all students to maximize learning, achievement, and personal growth.

Data-Informed Decision Making & Assessment

  1. Monitor curriculum and instruction effectiveness using both implementation data and outcome data to drive continuous improvement.
  2. Assist in school and district data processes, including synthesizing data, developing reports, communicating data trends, and utilizing data protocols to drive curriculum decisions.
  3. Support data-informed curriculum decisions and modifications based on student achievement and growth metrics.
  4. Collaborate with administration to establish specific, measurable, and attainable benchmarks for student performance.

Strategic Planning & Systems Support

  1. Collaboratively support the ongoing development and implementation of the district's continuous improvement process and plan.
  2. Support the district's multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) framework, strategic plan, and instructional vision through curriculum and instructional coaching.
  3. Serve on the School Improvement Plan committee and other school and district instructional teams, as needed.
  4. Assist with program evaluation for the School Improvement Team.

Instructional Coaching & Professional Development

  1. Plan and implement high-quality professional development for staff in collaboration with school administrators.
  2. Produce professional development training materials, videos, and documents for teachers.
  3. Provide individual and group (PLC) instructional coaching to improve teaching and learning.
  4. Coordinate and facilitate PLC leader meetings to support the implementation of PLC objectives.
  5. Serve as a trainer for teachers on curriculum implementation, instructional strategies, and assessment practices.
  6. Work with staff to integrate educational technology and research-based instructional practices into professional practices.

Leadership & Collaboration

Additional Responsibilities

  1. Assist the administration in the development of yearly building growth goals when needed, and support teachers in the development and documentation of annual growth goals.
  2. Openly support and abide by all District Board Policies.
  3. Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  4. Support the vision and mission of Oxford Community Schools.
  5. Other duties as assigned.

Reports to: Oxford Virtual Academy Principal

Salary Range: Per Oxford Education Association Salary Schedule
