JOB TITLE: Speech and Language Pathologist
LOCATION: Madison District Public Schools
START DATE: Fall 2026
SALARY: Per MEA Master Agreement

DESCRIPTION
Madison District Public Schools is seeking a qualified and dedicated Speech and Language Pathologist to provide evaluation, intervention, and consultation services for students with communication disorders. The successful candidate will collaborate with staff, families, and support personnel to develop and implement effective strategies that support student growth and achievement.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Valid State of Michigan Speech-Language Pathology License
  • Strong knowledge of standardized and informal assessment tools and intervention strategies related to communication disorders
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with students, staff, and families
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to compile data and prepare diagnostic and consultative reports
  • Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures related to special education and speech-language services


ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations
  • Prepare written evaluation reports and maintain accurate documentation
  • Develop and implement individualized goals, objectives, and service plans
  • Provide direct therapeutic services to students with identified communication needs
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, and outside agencies regarding student needs and progress
  • Serve as a resource to staff and families on speech and language concerns
  • Maintain current knowledge of research, best practices, and methodologies in speech-language pathology
  • Attend and participate in METs, IEP meetings, child study meetings, and staff meetings, as requested
  • Develop and maintain student service schedules
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal and/or Director of Specialized Student Services


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Screen students for possible speech and language impairments
  • Monitor student progress and maintain ongoing communication with parents/guardians
  • Prepare required reports and documentation for students receiving services
  • Provide consultative support to instructional staff regarding accommodations and interventions
  • Support compliance with district, state, and federal special education requirements
  • Participate in professional development and educational committees
