POSITION OPENING: ARC (Academic Resource Center)/ISS (In School Suspension) Supervising Paraprofessional

WHAT WE NEED:
1. High School Diploma.
2. Associates degree preferred
3. Evidence of ability to establish working relationships that result in mutual respect.
4. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication.
5. Strong interpersonal and public relations skills.
WHAT YOU NEED:
1. Works cooperatively with administrators, student services personnel and teachers.
2. Regular, reliable and punctual attendance is an essential function of the job
3. Monitor student behavior
4. Ensure student safety within the ARC, and proper usage of school materials
5. Monitor students serving ISS
6.Maintain confidentiality of school related information.
7.Assists teachers with routine classroom operation; follows through on teacher's instructions within time limits.
8.Assist and supervise students in the use of computers, as assigned.
9.Attend meetings/functions as specifically directed.
10.Demonstrates understanding of students' needs, and interacts appropriately with students, parents, and other employees.
11.Follows instructions of teaching staff and reinforces program philosophy and consistency in classroom procedures.
12.Demonstrates initiative and creativity with individual children and their program implementations; follows through with prescribed behavioral management programs.
13.Assists with classroom housekeeping, such as distributing paper and supplies, preparing bulletin boards, setting up and putting away appropriate materials and equipment.
14.Keeps records, writes lessons on the board, prepares tapes or materials for classroom use, corrects students' work, maintains instructional materials and supplies, and procures necessary resource materials, as required.
15.Assists with the development of instructional materials as appropriate and directed.
16.Supervises students involved in activities other than the Basic classroom.
17.Is physically able to participate in physical activities which are participate in physical activities which are part of the basic program and which may be unique to his/her specific classroom.
18.Maintains composure under stressful conditions.
19.Demonstrates an innate ability to realize that behavior is communication and not to be taken personally.
20.Demonstrates the ability to follow individualized styles of learning and/or behavior plans.
21.Other duties as assigned.
