Job Description

Position Summary: The position advertised requires an individual with extensive experience working with primary and secondary sources as a researcher and writer of historical studies. In addition, the position requires the ability to write metadata for historical documents, and to prepare them for uploading to a digital database housed in the University of Northern Colorado libraries. The successful applicant also will participate in team meetings and contribute to a final report to the National Park Service. The period of employment will be from June 1 to July 31, 2026. Minimum Qualifications: An M.A. in US History or closely related field At least 2 years of research experience with government agency records Experience with writing of literature reviews for historical projects Experience with historical database development Experience with Microsoft Office 365 software Experience with preparation of final reports for historical projects Ability to plan, organize and schedule project activities Ability to present research information at professional conferences
