
Teacher - Special Education, Independent Learning Center (ILC)
Job Description
The Bethel School District is seeking teacher applicants who have the potential to be leaders and innovative educators. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to deliver instruction based upon best available research and practices in teaching and learning.
If you are a current Bethel School District employee, you must complete an INTERNAL application. All other applicants, including current substitutes, must complete the standard application.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Valid and appropriate certificate and endorsements for Washington State required.
• K-12 Special Education endorsement required.
• Demonstrated desire and ability to work and communicate effectively with staff, students and parents from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• District approved de-escalation and restraint training.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/CHARACTERISTICS:
• Demonstrate a knowledge in and application of Team Teaching, Effective Instruction.
• Previous experience in teaching students with special needs.
• Ability to design and deliver individual special education programs for severe/profound multiply delayed.
• Ability to function as an effective member of the multi-disciplinary team.
• Evidence of positive human relations skills.
• Ability to meet the demands of restraining, lifting, and handling disabled students.
• Ability to feed, toilet/diaper and perform personal hygiene of students.
