Automotive Assistant Controller

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Automotive Assistant Controller / Accountant to join our dealership accounting team. This role supports the Controller in overseeing daily accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and dealership financial processes. The ideal candidate will have strong automotive accounting experience, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced dealership environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements and manufacturer reports
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and reconcile schedules
• Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow
• Assist with month-end procedures
• Support payroll processing and tax reporting
• Ensure compliance with dealership policies and accounting standards
• Review vehicle inventory schedules and floorplan reconciliations
• Assist with audits and internal controls
• Analyze financial data and prepare management reports
• Collaborate with department managers to improve operational efficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in automotive dealership accounting
• Experience with dealership management systems (Tekion)
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
