Substitute Assistive Technology Facilitator: August 12, 2026 - November 3, 2026
The ELC is located in Vernon Hills (Lake County), Illinois; is a special education cooperative providing services to students identified with special needs, ages 3 through 22 years of age. The ELC represents Kildeer Countryside Community Consolidated School District 96, Lincolnshire-Prairie View School District 103, Adlai E. Stevenson High School District 125 and Fox Lake District 114. The ELC serves eight elementary schools, four junior high/middle schools and one high school.

Qualifications:
- Current license from the State of Illinois Special Certificate endorsed for Speech and Language Pathology, Type 03, 09, 10, 73 or LBS1.
- Certificate of Assistive Technology preferred or willing to obtain.
- Ability to travel within the districts and move about ELC and district buildings as necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Foster the development of augmentative, language-rich environments through the use of low to high technology systems for the purpose of fostering communication across settings.
- Interpret, integrate, and synthesize evaluative information to make recommendations for Assistive Technology (AT) interventions and services for the purpose of providing access for students.
- Maintain accurate records (Students performance data, clerical responsibilities, Medicare billing, etc.) for the purpose of documenting accurate student information, reports, and Medicare reimbursement.
- Participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team for the purpose of developing and evaluating and making recommendations based on individual student needs.
- Participate in Individualized Education Plans (IEP) for students who qualify for AT supports for the purpose of developing appropriate goals, supports, and minutes of services.
- Proficiently use technology to communicate, compile reports, and collect data for the purpose of providing accurate records and communicating with team members, parents, administration, and district staff.
- Provide diagnostic services for students referred through a systematic referral process for the purpose of assessing assistive technology needs.
- Select, adapt, and conduct appropriate and compliant evaluations to assess student needs across all domains for the purpose of making recommendations.
- Utilize, make recommendations and plans for implementation of technology and assistive technologies to increase student access, independence, communication needs, or other needs.
