Job Description
QUALIFICATIONS: Illinois Professional Educator License with Music Endorsement
REPORTS TO: Principal, Assistant Principal
SUPERVISES: N/A
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
PURPOSE: The Elementary Music Teacher provides engaging, standards-based music instruction aligned with the Illinois State Board of Education and Illinois Learning Standards. The role fosters students' musical growth and creativity through vocal and instrumental instruction, movement, performance, and music literacy. The teacher creates a supportive learning environment, monitors student progress, and collaborates with staff and families to support the academic, social, and artistic development of all students.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 182 Days. Salary to be established by the Board of Education.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Building Principal and/or Dean in accordance with provisions of Board policy.

Payroll Schedule: Distributed over 26 periods, every other Friday
