Responsibilities:
- Assist with department leadership and management for Math, Science, Counseling, Career Development Programs and Technical Education
- Coordinate district Career Development Programs housed at Apple Valley High School
- Provide school management for grading issues and teacher supervision duties/assignments
- Provide department leadership and management for the Counseling Department
- Leadership for activities related to management/administrative applications of technology and data processing
- Assist with leadership for curriculum, instruction and school operations
- Assist with leadership in the preparation of, execution of and follow-up associated with scheduling
- Assist with leadership for grade reporting
- Assist in driving external test data into CAMPUS
- Liaison with district curriculum and instruction activities
- Leadership for teacher supervision and evaluation
- Assist with faculty and staff development
- Provide coordination and leadership for academic initiatives
- Assist with the leadership, curriculum implementation and coordination of the Minnesota Graduation Standards, Graduation Requirements and Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments.
- Provide leadership for the Apple Valley High School Systematic Response to BARR Program
- Leadership for daily substitute teacher assignments
- Leadership for summer registration of new students
- Provide co-leadership and coordination of 8th grade parent registration meetings and Registration Information Night with the Coordinator for Guidance and Counseling
- Supervise and coordinate classified staff for guidance/counseling services
- Provide leadership and coordination for Parent/Teacher Conferences
- Publish major report/curriculum and instruction timeline to faculty and staff
- Assist with discipline
- Share in the supervision of evening fine art/performing arts and athletic events
- Provide co-leadership for extended day programming
- Assist with curriculum and instruction
- Lunchroom trimester coordinator
- Coordinate planning and preparation for first day of school, Veteran's Day program, Senior Awards and graduation
Job Summary:
- Assist in the implementation of the school mission and help school achieve excellence in the areas of student learning, team collaboration, positive school learning environment, effective communication.
- Establish and maintain good communication and relationships with staff, students and parents.
- Support school learning teams.
- Partner with the principal for teacher observations and evaluations.
- Carry out other responsibilities as defined by the principal.
Qualifications:
A successful candidate will have a valid Minnesota administrative license, will have successful classroom teaching experience and will demonstrate prior significant leadership of secondary education programs. Demonstrated success is necessary in master schedule building, assessing needs, setting goals and implementing and evaluating an exemplary inclusive academic program for secondary students. Candidates must have outstanding organizational, leadership, communication and interpersonal skills in working with students, staff and the public and the ability to work effectively within a diverse community.

Compensation / Benefits:
Salary in the range of $148,851 - 159,240 (260 days/year) based on 2025/26 school year, depending upon qualifications, plus an excellent benefits program.
