Job Description

Position Title: Communications Assistant

Summary: As a Communications Assistant in the Communications and Engagement Department at iLearn Schools, you will be vital in supporting the department's administrative and operational needs. This position is crucial for the smooth functioning of departmental activities, from the organization and execution of all communications and events. The role demands a proactive and organized individual who can manage multiple tasks efficiently, assist in content creation, and actively participate in school activities and events objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Experience: At least six months in a related role, preferably within nonprofit, communications, marketing, or event management.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strong written, verbal, and digital communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and social media management tools.
    • Experience with content creation, social media strategy, and basic design tools (preferred).
    • Use of AI tools for content creation, design, data tracking, and campaign support is highly preferred.
    • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
    • Collaborative team player with creative problem-solving abilities.
    • Enthusiastic about storytelling and promoting school community achievements.

Essential Performance Responsibilities:

  • Possess a valid driver's license (preferred).
  • Create, design, and manage high-quality content across all social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.) to elevate brand visibility and audience engagement.
  • Plan and execute strategic digital marketing campaigns specifically aimed at driving student enrollment and promoting school-wide initiatives.
  • Develop visually compelling graphics, videos, and multimedia assets that align with iLearn's brand identity for use in social media, emails, and presentations.
  • Oversee content calendars and platform optimization, ensuring a consistent and professional posting schedule across all digital channels.
  • Monitor social media trends and implement industry best practices to continuously improve reach and performance.
  • Produce diverse digital communications, including newsletters, press releases, and promotional materials to support internal and external outreach.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all visual outputs and communications by collaborating with internal teams to translate ideas into storytelling assets.
  • Identify and amplify impactful stories of students, staff, and the community to strengthen the iLearn narrative.
  • Analyze campaign performance metrics such as engagement, reach, and conversions to refine strategies for maximum impact.
  • Serve as the primary editor for the iLearn Schools website and campus pages, ensuring all information is accurate, timely, and relevant.
  • Maintain website functionality by regularly auditing links, forms, and pages to provide a seamless user experience for parents and staff.
  • Manage the "Latest News" and "Event Gallery" sections of the website by uploading and formatting blogs and news stories.
  • Optimize web content for search engines (SEO) and ensure all digital assets meet accessibility standards.

Prior to employment, the following must be addressed:

  • Required to complete a criminal history background check to prove that the individual has not been convicted of a crime or a disorderly person's offense in accordance with N.J.S.A 18A:6-7.1.
  • Provide evidence that health is adequate to fulfill the job functions and responsibilities with reasonable accommodation pursuant to 42 U.S.C. 12101 and in accordance with N.J.A.C. 6A:32-6.2.
  • Furnish documentation that the state required Mantoux Intradermal Tuberculin Test, as required by N.J.A.C. 6A:32-6.3, has been completed.
  • Meet such alternatives to the above qualifications as the school director finds appropriate and acceptable.

Travel

Occasional travel to school site is required as well as meeting off-site with different stakeholders
