Elementary School Principal
Job Description
The following specifications are in addition to those in the attached job description:
- Serves as the instructional and administrative leader of the school building.
- Responsible for the effective supervision of all school activities, with a primary focus on driving student achievement through evidence-based literacy instruction, rigorous data analysis, and continuous professional growth of staff.
- Provides leadership in implementing evidence-based K�4 literacy practices to ensure foundational reading success for all students.
- Oversees the implementation of NJSLS-aligned curriculum and instruction to ensure daily classroom practices meet state standards and district achievement benchmarks.
- Leads the development and implementation of targeted professional development and in-service programs for staff.
Qualifications:
- NJ Principal Certification required.
- Prior administrative experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Grades K�4 NJSLS, special education programming, Title I, and social-emotional learning best practices.
- Experience recruiting, supervising, evaluating, and professionally developing faculty and support staff.
- Proven ability to foster a safe, positive, and student-centered school culture and climate.
- Ability to create, communicate, and sustain a shared vision for student success.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, technical, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with students, staff, parents, administration, and the community.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Salary: $135,000-$165,000 commensurate with experience
