Reports To: Executive Director � Special Education
EMPLOYMENT BEGINS: 7/30/26
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
- To work with both students experiencing behavioral challenges as well as model appropriate behavior intervention techniques to staff members.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Master's Degree
- Valid Texas Teacher Certification
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
- Possess an understanding of various disabilities and special education law as well as have a strong background in behavior management techniques
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certified
- Trained in Texas Behavior Support Initiative
EXPERIENCE:
- Have demonstrated successful work experience with students exhibiting behavioral needs
- Have a strong background in behavior management techniques and effective teaching strategies
- Have experience creating and implementing behavioral intervention plans
- Possess the necessary skills to assist staff members in the remediation of various disruptive behaviors
- Possess strong analytical and organizational skills
- Demonstrate effective communication, public relation, and interpersonal skills
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Working with students who are experiencing behavioral difficulties
- Working with teachers that are struggling in the area of classroom management
- Perform other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- None

- The ability to remain professional and composed in a stressful situation

- The ability to use Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Techniques to ensure the safety of students and staff members
