Teacher Support Compensation Plan
Shift Type: Full-Time
Wage/Hour Status: Exempt
Reports To: Principal
 
This position is funded with Title 1, Part A funds, and continued funding of this position will be based on the availability of Title 1, Part A funds.


EMPLOYMENT BEGINS: As soon as possible 



PRIMARY PURPOSE:

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve student reading & math scores on TSI measures. Assist the administrative staff in providing a rigorous college-bound culture for students and facilitate the delivery of advanced course opportunities for students, foster continued growth and learning for the instructional staff, and to promote a system of accountability to ensure student success in college classes.

QUALIFICATIONS: 
Education/Certification:

  • Valid Texas Teacher Certificate
  • Master's Degree Preferred

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Thorough understanding of school operation and pedagogy
  • Experience with differentiation of instruction
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience in best practices and high-yield strategies
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive problem-solving skills demonstrating initiative and teamwork
  • A strong work ethic coupled with an enthusiastic and passionate approach to the improvement of instruction for students
  • Knowledge and understanding of the requirements and challenges associated with advanced academic classes
  • A commitment to the belief that all students can learn and to the mission of educational opportunities for all

EXPERIENCE:

  • Three to five years of successful classroom experience preferably in an advanced academic class

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Analyze and disseminate PSAT data as well as develop action plans for continuous student improvement
  • Plan, implement, communicate, and evaluate SAT & TSIA2 testing
  • Act as the campus Advanced Placement Coordinator
  • Knowledge of CCMR A-F accountability
  • Develop and implement ways to grow all levers relating to advanced academics
  • Ability to track and organize data
  • Ability to effectively engage with feeder pattern schools, staff members, and parents to inform, encourage and grow advanced academic programming
  • Disseminate information and provide training regarding current research and new developments in assigned areas
  • Develop and manage student celebration initiatives with regards to advanced academics and collegiate testing
  • Work in tandem with school counselors, college readiness team, administrators, and CCMR committee to ensure all parties are actively working towards an advanced academics culture for all students
  • Engage in professional development to grow knowledge and skills in the area of advanced academics and postsecondary readiness
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • None

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Mental Demands:

  • Writing routine reports and correspondence.
  • Interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to meet deadlines from multiple assignment requests on a frequent basis.

Physical demands/environmental factors:

  • Intermittent walking, sitting and standing.
  • Reaching with hands and arms frequently repeating the same hand, arm or finger motion.
