- Note: During training, the management trainee will work both Night and Day shifts.
Job Summary:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Participate in structured training to develop knowledge of operational systems, safety programs, and performance management practices.
- Learn and support OSHA safety programs, operational business processes, systems, and tools utilized within the distribution environment.
- Collaborate with frontline leaders including Warehouse Managers, Transportation Managers, Inventory Managers, and District Sales Managers to understand daily operational activities.
- Supervise associates as assigned, including responsibilities related to staffing, onboarding, training, coaching, performance management, and conflict resolution.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture by reinforcing safety programs, conducting safety meetings, and ensuring proper safety procedures, equipment, and attire are followed.
- Partner with the Transportation Manager to maintain operational efficiency and ensure accurate, timely loading and unloading of trucks.
- Assist with scheduling workloads, coordinating warehouse activities, and monitoring productivity to meet service and delivery expectations.
- Support inventory management processes and ensure customers are notified of product shortages or substitutions by coordinating with Customer Service, Warehouse Supervisors, and Operations leadership.
- Ensure building, equipment, and facility maintenance standards are upheld through coordination of repair and maintenance activities.
- Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Complete the assigned training curriculum and all required development programs within the trainee program.
- Contribute to projects focused on operational improvement, cost control, and process optimization.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.
