The Imaging Service Specialist II performs maintenance and repairs as necessary on any general medical equipment as well as having the knowledge and ability to support at least three types of Medical Imaging/Radiological systems or devices. In this role you will inspect, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate and verify performance of the assigned Imaging/Radiological equipment in accordance with Clinical Engineering policies and processes.

THIS POSITION WILL TRAVEL BETWEEN ALL FRANCISCAN LOCATIONS IN CENTRAL INDIANA.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • Deliver high quality and cost effective results by performing medical equipment service and providing technical support across a wide range of Radiological and Imaging device types and in multiple clinical care areas, following the organizational policies and procedures.

  • Mentor and train less experienced members of the Clinical Engineering department in a way that reflects the Franciscan mission and values while also demonstrating self-accountability for completion of his or her own assigned service activities with only occasional need for managerial oversight.

  • Appropriately document equipment information and service activities within the medical equipment database to assure timely, accurate and complete service documentation and inventory management.

  • Take action to appropriately respond to any customer concerns, patient incidents, recalls, regulatory findings or other urgent situation that may arise within the daily activities of the Clinical Engineering team.

  • Communicate with clinical care providers regarding the status of any equipment service activities, adjusting activities when necessary to accommodate patient care schedules, while still assuring regulatory compliance.

  • Participate in relevant technical and professional training or related activities to develop advanced knowledge and skills related to Imaging equipment, stay informed about changes in healthcare technology, regulatory requirements and other external factors that may affect the activities of the Clinical Engineering department.

  • Actively participate in assuring the success and positive reputation of the Clinical Engineering department by willingly and competently performing any necessary service functions and/or related administrative activities.

  • Demonstrate understanding of and adherence to the department budget by using good judgement to plan and prioritize activities and by considering a variety of different service strategies to assure the highest possible level of efficiency and cost effectiveness for all services provided.

  • Take responsibility for identifying opportunities for improvement and making recommendations for positive changes in processes to improve the quality of service or contribute to positive patient or organizational outcomes.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Required Associate's Degree Biomedical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology or relevant years of experience

  • Preferred Bachelor's Degree Biomedical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology or related

  • Required Certificate Certificates from at least 3 Imaging Equipment specific service training classes from an ISO or OEM or related training organization

  • 7 years In lieu of AS degree, 7+ years relevant progressive service experience in a related field with at least 2 years of full responsibility servicing Imaging Equipment in Healthcare Technology required Required

  • 4 years With AS degree, 4+ years service experience with full responsibility for the support of Imaging Equipment Required

  • 2 years With BS degree, 2+ years of service experience with full responsibility for the support of Imagign Equipment Required

  • A+ Certified Professional (A+CERT) or related - CompTia IS related Certification (A+, Network+, Security+ or related) preferred within 24 months

  • Certified Radiology Equipment Specialists (CRES) - Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation CBET, CRES, CHTM, CCE or related certification preferred within 24 months
