Job Description

As the Lead Field Investigator, the incumbent provides advanced epidemiological and investigative support for Gadsden County and helps, as needed, with investigations that involve both Gadsden and Leon counties. While the position is assigned primarily to Gadsden, the incumbent collaborates with Leon County field investigators when cases include cross-county elements, such as when an investigation originates in one county but involves contacts, residences, or other relevant epidemiological details in the other. This role is responsible for conducting comprehensive communicable disease investigations, including interviewing individuals infected with or at risk for communicable diseases to obtain partner, cluster, and suspect information critical to public health surveillance. The incumbent carries out field investigations to locate clients, deliver Field Directed Therapy, and facilitate access to counseling, medical evaluation, and treatment services. This position ensures that all newly diagnosed HIV-positive individuals in Gadsden County are followed through complete linkage to care, with all activities documented in the HIV/AIDS Linkage modules.
