Hampshire County Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Consultant in Public Health (Locum) to join our high performing team and provide strategic leadership during a period of planned leave cover.

 

This is an exciting opportunity to work in one of the largest and most ambitious public health systems in England, where you will influence policy, shape programmes, and deliver meaningful improvements in population health and health equity.

What you’ll do:

As a Consultant in Public Health, you will:

  • Provide strategic leadership across council and system partners.
  • Lead programmes focused on: 
    • Prevention and management of long-term conditions.
    • Improving health outcomes for older people.
  • Manage and develop a team of up to 10 staff.
  • Support system-wide priorities through the Integrated Care System (ICS).
  • Drive evidence-based decision-making and innovation.

 

This is a hands-on leadership role with real scope to shape services and improve lives.

Travel Requirements:

You will be required to travel to various locations within Hampshire, and it is essential that you have a current drivers’ licence and access to a reliable vehicle on a regular basis.
