Serves as the overall Construction Manager and Delivery Owner, accountable for end‑to‑end project delivery from engineering release through Construction, CQV, and turnover. This role owns how the project is executed, ensuring Engineering, Procurement, and Construction operate under a construction‑led Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) execution model. This position sets execution priorities, enforces sequencing discipline, and ensures that engineered product (EP) and materials are delivered in direct support of construction workface needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as the overall Construction Manager and Delivery Owner, accountable for end-to-end project execution from engineering release through construction, commissioning, qualification, validation (CQV), and system turnover.
- Lead project execution using an Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) methodology, establishing and maintaining the Path of Construction (PoC) and ensuring construction-driven planning and execution across all project phases.
- Drive alignment between engineering, procurement, logistics, and construction to ensure work is executed in the required sequence.
- Oversee construction readiness and constraint management by ensuring engineering deliverables, materials, permits, access, resources and work packages are available to support safe and productive field execution.
- Enforce compliance with Engineering Work Packages (EWPs), Construction Work Packages (CWPs), and Installation Work Packages (IWPs), ensuring work proceeds only when readiness criteria are met.
- Partner with engineering and procurement teams to deliver IFC packages and engineered materials in alignment with construction priorities and schedules.
- Lead and manage Construction Management (CM) partners and contractors, holding them accountable for productivity, interface management, sequencing, quality, safety and execution readiness.
- Resolve execution challenges and coordinate activities across Inside Battery Limits (ISBL) and Outside Battery Limits (OSBL) work areas to maintain project flow.
- Ensure seamless transition from mechanical completion through CQV by integrating construction completion with commissioning and turnover planning.
- Collaborate closely with project leadership, engineering, planning, construction managers, and contractor partners to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field; General Contractor’s License preferred
- Proven leadership in managing large-scale industrial construction and brownfield capital projects within chemical manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or similar heavy process industries, including coordination with active operations, construction, commissioning, qualification, startup, and turnover activities.
- Experience developing and implementing construction policies, procedures, and safety protocols aligned with regulatory and operational standards (e.g., OSHA, PSM)
- Strong expertise in planning and executing complex construction activities, including equipment installation, piping, and structural work in active plant environments
- Excellent communication and technical reporting skills, with the ability to coordinate across engineering, operations, and contractor teams
- Familiar with working in union environments
