Job Purpose:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Centre Facilities Engineer to oversee the daily operations and management of our Data Centre facilities. The ideal candidate will ensure that our operations meet the highest standards of safety, security, availability, productivity, capacity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.


Job Description:

24/7 Operational Support: Provide continuous oversight of our Data Centre facility, including security, access control, process optimization, audits, and compliance certifications.

Monitoring and Maintenance: Regularly monitor building services to ensure optimal performance of Data Centre systems and facilities.

Sustainability Initiatives: Lead studies and reporting focused on Green Initiatives, particularly in power utilization and general facility management to drive efficiency.

Operational Excellence: Manage the maintenance and daily operations of Data Centre facilities to ensure uninterrupted availability and fulfill our service commitments to customers.

Continuous Improvement: Contribute to team success by managing and strategizing activities with a focus on outcome-based continuous improvement. Vendor Management: Oversee and coordinate with vendors and contractors to maximize effectiveness and efficiency, ensuring safety, cost-effectiveness, equipment longevity, and reliability while adhering to industry best practices for Mechanical & Electrical infrastructure.

Maintenance Coordination: Participate in the scheduling, coordination, and execution of significant planned and emergency maintenance events, ensuring these activities are conducted in a controlled manner to maintain the reliability of critical systems

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Data Centre support and facilities management within a Critical Information Infrastructure (CII) environment.

  • Prior experience in developing and implementing next-generation Data Centre strategies is advantageous.

Working experience

  • Ability to cope with reasonably high level of stress and demonstrate resiliency, drive and professional integrity.

  • Has strong in-depth knowledge in both DC facility management & DC Operations functions

  • Strong technical and functional knowledge of Data Centre critical systems, including diesel generators, UPS systems, fuel systems, switchgear, power distribution equipment, chillers, computer room air handlers, fire detection/suppression and building monitoring system

  • Ensure the delivery of 24x7 service operations, establishing metrics, KPIs, and process improvement/automation to continually improve the performance of DC

  • Demonstrate strong skills to drive consistency of DC standards across Regional

  • Good experience in process and DC automation for productivity improvement

  • Team player with excellent consultative and communications skills and the proven ability to work effectively with internal and external IT/Non-IT stakeholders, vendors & consultants

Side note:

  • This role requires 100% work in office, based at Loyang

  • Working arrangement: 5 days work week, rotating between (1) 9am- 6pm (2) 2pm- 11pm
