We partner closely with the business, supporting complex contracts, negotiations, litigation, and strategic initiatives in a dynamic, international environment. Your Role
As Vice President Legal Nordics & Baltics, you will have full responsibility for leading the legal function across the sub-region, including Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland and the Baltics. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior management, shape legal strategy, and ensure best-in-class legal support aligned with DHL’s business ambitions.
This is a senior leadership role with high visibility, broad impact, and significant strategic responsibility.
Your Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Governance
- Define, implement, and continuously evolve the Legal Management strategy, frameworks, and standards for the sub-region in alignment with Group priorities and applicable laws and regulations
- Actively contribute to top management decision-making and strategic planning to align legal strategy with short- and long-term business objectives
- Promote a strong “One DHL / One Legal DNA” culture, ensuring consistency, collaboration, and best-practice sharing across business units
- Bring your contribution in leading and supporting strategic initiatives at Regional and Global level, with impact within and beyond the Legal Department
Business Partnership & Risk Management
- Provide proactive, solution-oriented legal advice to senior leaders on commercial, regulatory, and litigation matters
- Evaluate existing and proposed business activities, policies, and transactions to ensure compliance and effective risk mitigation
- Lead litigation strategy and oversee legal defense actions, representing the organization before courts, authorities, and regulators
Operational Excellence & Transformation
- Establish efficient legal processes and continuously improve organizational structures, leveraging digitalization and new ways of working
- Balance and optimize the use of internal legal resources and external law firms to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and strong representation of DHL’s interests
- Lead, develop, and inspire senior legal professionals across the sub-region, fostering professional growth and leadership capability
- Build strong, trusted relationships with senior business leaders and key external stakeholders
- Represent DHL Group in dealings with trade, industry, and professional organizations, positioning Legal as a recognized thought leader
What You Bring
- Law degree (mandatory); postgraduate qualification or master’s degree in business law is an advantage
- Minimum 10+ years of professional experience in an international corporate legal department and/or an international law firm, including leadership responsibilities
- Proven track record in leading teams, managing complex legal matters, and partnering with executive-level stakeholders
- Strong commercial mindset combined with excellent judgment and integrity
- Fluency in English is required; additional languages are an advantage
