NIBIN Technician Level IV

The Firearms and Toolmark Examiner Level IV will provide expert forensic analysis while ensuring quality control and supporting NIBIN operations. As an Alaska Native Corporation subsidiary, we combine forensic expertise with our cultural values to deliver superior technical support.  Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:Forensic Duties: Process IBIS evidence entries Conduct correlation reviews Analyze NIBIN leads Perform quality control reviews Evaluate partner site submissions Support forensic examinations Provide expert testimony Technical Operations: Support training initiatives Review NNCTC operations Ensure quality assurance Analyze potential leads Maintain documentation Support partner sites Implement SOPs Career Progression Levels:Level a:  Basic certification requirements Initial court experience Fundamental examinations Level b: Additional 2 years experience Advanced forensic capabilities Enhanced expertise Level c: Additional 5 years experience Expert-level analysis Program leadership Requirements: Expert forensic analysis abilities Quality control expertise Court testimony experience Technical proficiency Training capabilities Documentation expertise Communication excellence Problem-solving abilities Leadership skills Attention to detail Project management Analytical capabilities Desired Skills and Competencies AFTE membership Advanced forensic training Expert witness experience Program development expertise Quality assurance background Training certification Experience with NIBIN/IBIS Knowledge of legal procedures Understanding of compliance Laboratory management experience Research capabilities Technical writing expertise Process improvement skills Experience with documentation Knowledge of evidence handling Advanced analytical tools proficiency Education:  Bachelor's Degree in natural science, chemistry, biology, physics, or forensic science Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Minimum 2 years as Firearm/Toolmark Examiner This senior-level position requires extensive forensic experience, strong leadership abilities, and the capability to provide expert testimony while maintaining high standards for forensic analysis and quality control.
