EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of five years secondary school teaching experience and demonstrated leadership or administrative experience preferred
- NM School Administrative K-12 License from New Mexico Public Education Department
- Masters Degree in Education or applicable proficiency
Must be willing to work on site and in person. Must be able to pass all background checks required by the NMPED.
- Dean - Duties and Responsibilities
1. Implement and oversee strategies to improve student attendance rates.
2. Monitor daily attendance records and follow up on absences promptly.
3. Work with students, families, and community resources to address attendance barriers.
4. Recognize and reward positive attendance behaviors.
5. Enforce school policies and procedures regarding student behavior.
6. Address disciplinary issues promptly and fairly, employing restorative practices where applicable.
7. Provide guidance and support to students in conflict resolution and decision-making.
8. Collaborate with teachers and counselors to develop behavior intervention plans for at-risk students.
9. Analyze academic performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
10. Implement interventions and support systems to enhance student academic achievement.
11. Provide academic counseling and guidance to students struggling academically.
12. Coordinate tutoring programs, study groups, and other academic support initiatives.
13. Set goals and benchmarks for student achievement in collaboration with school leadership.
14. Monitor progress towards academic and behavioral goals, intervening as necessary.
15. Celebrate student successes and recognize accomplishments through awards and commendations.
16. Organize and oversee extracurricular activities and enrichment programs that promote student achievement and
personal development.
17. Establish and maintain open lines of communication with parents/guardians regarding attendance, discipline, and
academic progress.
18. Organize parent workshops and informational sessions on topics related to student success.
19. Foster partnerships with community organizations and resources to support students' holistic development.
20. Maintain accurate records related to attendance, discipline, and academic interventions.
21. Prepare reports and presentations for school administration and stakeholders.
22. Assist in the development and implementation of school policies and procedures.
23. Participate in staff meetings, professional development activities, and committees as required.
