As a Security Officer Driver Verification Post in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Access Control Officer at a government location, where you will monitor entry points, verify credentials, and help support orderly access for staff, visitors, and vendors. You will remain visible, perform routine observations, and provide strong customer service and communication while handling security-related concerns with integrity and teamwork. This is a driving post.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific access control procedures, government location policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor entrances and exits, verify identification and/or authorization for entry, and document visitor, vehicle, and/or delivery activity in accordance with site protocols.
• Respond to incidents, policy concerns, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and/or emergency personnel as needed.
• Help to deter unauthorized access and prohibited activity by observing entry points, monitoring movement through restricted areas, and reporting security-related concerns promptly.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, checking access points, gates, doors, and other assigned areas as working environments and conditions may vary by site.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A minimum of 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
• X-Ray screening experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
