Job Description
The Outreach & Admissions Manager position provides instructional support for a U.S Department of Labor Job Corps contractor, Human Learning Systems. The Job Corps program is a federally funded residential training program. Job Corps’ mission is to educate and train youth ages 16-24 for successful careers in the nation’s fastest-growing industries.
Summary of Duties:
The Outreach & Admissions Manager is responsible for training, supervising, and directing outcomes for the Outreach & Admissions and Career Transition Services Departments.
Significant Responsibilities:
- Oversees staff members assigned to this department.
- Ensures staff members have adequate training to complete key areas of responsibility.
- Ensures that the OA and CTS contracts exceed goals.
- Promotes positive Job Corps image and awareness in the community.
- Develops referral services.
- Recruits eligible youth to the program.
- Performs responsibility for placement and transitional services: Ensures that 100% of graduates and former enrollee placement and transitional services are being provided.
- Ensures timely placement of assignees.
- Performs data entry, data verification, and reconciliation in all areas of student accountability
- Has a working knowledge of data transfer from one document to another with an emphasis on detail and error recognition.
- Audits systems. Maintains database with current and correct information indicating student enrollment status.
- Audits accountability reports daily to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Administers students' clothing allowance plan.
- Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree and four years of relevant experience. Master’s Degree preferred.
- Valid state driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen.
- As a Federal Contractor, while North Dakota law may allow individuals to consume marijuana if they have a qualifying medical condition, marijuana is still illegal under federal law. A positive drug screen with a medical marijuana card will result in an offer not being made.
