Job Description
Job Summary:
As a Forklift Operator, you will play an essential role in maintaining the flow of materials by moving various sized units and products to the correct staging areas. You will also maintain accurate records of inventory locations, assist with general operations, and ensure housekeeping duties are completed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts and conduct pre-shift inspections
- Moving various sized units and or products from various sources to the next staging area
- Responsible for maintaining accurate records as to the location of the each unit moved
- Maintain organized storage areas and accurate inventory records
- Assist with shipping duties
- Complete necessary paperwork and reports accurately and on time
- Adhere to company policies, safety protocols, and production schedules
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Current Lift Truck Operator License
- Ability to read and follow instructions, use basic math skills
- Previous forklift operation experience
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, occasionally up to 100 pounds
- Comfort working in an environment with moving machinery, noise, and varying conditions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the corrugated industry
Language Skills:
- Ability to read and follow written and oral instruction.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, and outside officials to the company.
Mathematical Skills:
- Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
- Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.
