ATC Communications Technician

Robinson Aviation (RVA), Inc. is looking for an experienced technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a Minimum of 5+ years of experience in maintaining, installing, and repair of equipment within an Air Traffic Control Facility.

The Technician will be responsible for the efficient execution of installation, maintenance, and repair of ATC communications and equipment listed below:

· Control tower radio transmitters and receivers

· Control tower voice switches

· Airport AWOS Systems

· Backup weather systems

· Digital voice recorders

· ATIS maintenance and installation

The technician must be able to travel to perform on-site visits for troubleshooting, fault isolation, maintenance, and repair of assigned ATC systems across the country. On-site technical assistance will require demonstrated experience of working in an operational Air Traffic Control facility with capabilities to inform users of operational impact to equipment outages.

Technician must have the ability to read and understand technical manuals and maintain proficiency with tools and test equipment. Use industry techniques and practices that are acceptable to perform maintenance and equipment changes as requested.

Be available to work different shifts and weekends or on-call as requested. Able to travel away for training, work, and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education: AA/HS diploma, industry recognized certification, advanced military, or FAA training in electronics field with appropriate professional experience.

Experience

5 Years of hands-on experience, and a minimum of 3 years’ experience shall be in the field of repair, installation, maintenance, and check-out in either radar, airfield, and weather systems at the airport or within ATC facilities. The technician shall have formal training on ATC systems from either the equipment manufacturer, Department of Defense (DoD), or Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
