Position Summary
The Electrician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and mechanical systems within a high-speed automated distribution center. This role supports product safety, quality, and legality while performing preventive maintenance, equipment diagnostics, and facility repairs in compliance with safety standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on conveyor systems and base building infrastructure.
- Complete and maintain documentation related to the Maintenance CMMS and PM program.
- Set up and maintain machinery in accordance with current safety standards.
- Troubleshoot equipment using schematics, panel layouts, and manufacturer specifications.
- Perform electrical installations and network setups for building systems.
- Inspect equipment to detect and resolve irregularities and malfunctions.
- Respond to trouble calls and participate in emergency maintenance activities.
- Assist in receiving inventory and replacement parts for maintenance operations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with maintenance teammates across shifts.
- Assist Millwrights with breakdown repairs and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Repair pallet racks, pick modules, dock components, and material handling equipment as needed.
- Contribute to daily work schedule planning and department talent development.
- Communicate effectively with peers and other departments.
- Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned by the Operations Manager.
Qualifications and Skills
- Journeyman Tradesperson, Interprovincial Red Seal, or dual-ticketed Electrician/Millwright is considered an asset.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in mechanical/electrical maintenance within a manufacturing
