LEAD MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

  • FULL-TIME; 8:00am - 4:00pm
  • WEEKEND, ON-CALL, & HOLIDAY ROTATION

Betsy Ross Nursing & Rehab Center is seeking an experienced Lead Maintenance Technician for a Skilled Nursing Facility in New York State. Responsible for overseeing preventive maintenance, building systems, life safety compliance, and daily facility operations in a healthcare environment. Experience in SNF, nursing home, hospital, or healthcare facility maintenance preferred.   • Perform and lead daily maintenance operations in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). 
  • Assist the Director of Maintenance with day-to-day facility operations. 
  • Lead preventive maintenance and repairs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. 
  • Complete assigned work orders, inspections, and emergency repairs. 
  • Respond to on-call maintenance emergencies, including weekends and after-hours needs. 
  • Troubleshoot building system issues to maintain safe and efficient operations. 
  • Coordinate room turnovers, make-ready projects, and contractor activities. 
  • Monitor building systems, facility equipment, and common areas. 
  • Maintain grounds, dumpster areas, and facility cleanliness standards. 
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NYS DOH, CMS, and life safety regulations. 
  • Assist with inventory control, maintenance supplies, and equipment tracking. 
  • Support training and coordination of maintenance staff as directed. 
  • Monitor work performed by outside vendors and contractors. 
  • Report safety hazards, damages, and unusual facility conditions immediately. 
  • Maintain professional communication with residents, staff, visitors, and vendors. 
  • Carry communication devices and respond promptly to maintenance requests. 
  • Assist with snow removal, emergency response, and extended-hour coverage as needed. 
  • Deliver supplies, equipment, and materials throughout the facility as assigned.
  • Minimum High School Diploma or High School Equivalent, required. 
  • AAS, Bachelor's Degree, Technical Certificate Program, and/or Trade School/Vocational Program completion in any of the following or related subject preferred; plumbing, electrical, industrial maintenance, facilities management, HVAC systems, construction management, environmental services, refrigeration, Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Industrial Safety Technology, Safety Management, Occupational Health & Safety Management, Environmental Safety & Risk Management, preferred.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification, a huge plus!
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • At least 2 years’ experience in maintenance/engineering, healthcare experience, required. 
  • Long Term Care and/or SNF experience as Maintenance Technician a huge plus!
  • Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • Must be reliable and dedicated to providing excellent service to our residents.
  • Ability to work cohesively with residents, families, and staff from various departments.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and be flexible.
