The Astor Learning Center (ALC) is hiring a School Clinician to join our supportive and collaborative team. We're searching for passionate, energetic individuals to join our team. The School Clinician is responsible for related service - counseling services, group counseling services, case management, communication with all stakeholders involving students (i.e., parents, teachers, professional and support staff, school districts, community service providers, etc.).
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintains open lines of communication with families and outside partners working with students.
- Maintains working knowledge of the electronic heath record, individualized education plans, individual crisis support plans, behavioral assessments, and behavior intervention plans.
- Maintains therapy caseload, implementing related services of counseling and parent counseling and training, as noted.
- All required reports on students are substantial and current. Including, but not limited to Individualized Education Plans, progress notes/related service log entries, milieu logs, notable event reports and parent communication systems.
- Completing initial assessments of each students’ capabilities upon entering the classroom and throughout the year to assess social-emotional learning growth.
- Offer ideas and strategies to teaching-teams for effective lesson plans with clear objectives encompassing the whole child, including differentiated instruction and social-emotional learning.
- Must be capable of assisting occupants in the orderly evacuation of the site, by both primary and secondary means during fire drills, and other evacuation emergencies.
- Must be physically capable at all times of initiating or assisting in all components of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention, including passing scores in both written and physical examinations.
- Must be able to maintain the safety of children by responding promptly and effectively to potentially dangerous situations.
- Inspires and motivates students to develop, according to their abilities, while providing for all health and safety considerations.
