Overview

QXO, Inc. (NYSE: QXO) is the largest publicly traded distributor of roofing, waterproofing, and related products, and the second largest publicly traded distributor of lumber and building materials in North America. QXO is the fastest growing company in the $800 billion building products distribution industry and plans to become the tech-enabled leader by delivering best-in-class customer satisfaction and outsized returns for its shareholders. The company is targeting $50 billion in annual revenues within the next decade through accretive acquisitions and organic growth.

QXO is seeking a strategic, creative, and highly execution-oriented Director of Social Media Marketing to build and lead our social media function from the ground up. This is a foundational leadership role responsible for developing and executing QXO’s enterprise social media strategy across corporate brand, executive visibility, recruiting, culture, thought leadership, and business storytelling.

As the company’s first dedicated social media leader, you will define the vision, voice, and operating model for social media across the organization. You will partner closely with Marketing, Digital Marketing, Creative & Production, Communications, Talent Acquisition, and executive leadership — including direct collaboration with the CEO and senior leadership team.

The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution, understands how to build modern B2B and corporate social brands, and thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments.

What you will do:

  • Build and lead QXO’s enterprise social media strategy across LinkedIn, Instagram, X, YouTube, TikTok, and emerging platforms
  • Develop and manage a scalable social content calendar aligned with company priorities, campaigns, recruiting initiatives, and executive communications
  • Partner with the CEO and executive leadership team to elevate executive presence and thought leadership across social platforms
  • Collaborate with Creative & Production teams to develop compelling multimedia content including video, motion graphics, photography, and short-form social content
  • Work closely with Digital Marketing to align paid and organic social strategies and optimize audience growth and engagement
  • Create social storytelling strategies that strengthen QXO’s employer brand, company culture visibility, and corporate reputation
  • Establish social media governance, brand standards, approval workflows, and best practices across the organization
  • Monitor social trends, cultural moments, and competitive activity to identify opportunities for timely and relevant engagement
  • Define KPIs and reporting frameworks to measure engagement, reach, audience growth, sentiment, and business impact
  • Build scalable processes, tools, and vendor relationships to support future growth of the social media function
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to internal stakeholders on social content, platform strategy, and digital communications

What you will bring:

  • 10+ years of experience in social media marketing, brand marketing, digital content, or corporate communications
  • Experience building or leading social media functions for high-growth, enterprise, B2B, technology, media, or consumer-facing brands
  • Proven ability to develop executive thought leadership and corporate storytelling strategies
  • Strong understanding of platform-specific content strategies, audience engagement, analytics, and emerging social trends
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with creative, production, communications, recruiting, and executive leadership teams
  • Exceptional writing, editorial, and content development skills
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using social media analytics and reporting tools
  • Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-moving environment
  • Highly collaborative, proactive, and comfortable navigating ambiguity and rapid growth
  • Experience supporting founder-led or executive-driven brands
  • Experience managing social media during periods of transformation, growth, or M&A activity
  • Familiarity with paid social strategy and social listening platforms
  • Video-first storytelling and content production experience

What you will earn:

  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • PTO, company holidays, and parental leave
  • Paid training and certifications
  • Legal assistance and identity protection
  • Pet insurance
  • Employee assistance program (EAP)
