Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides support for clients with substance/co-occurring disorders entering residential treatment through creating a welcoming and professional environment. Receptionist manages front desk operations, such as answering phones, completing phone screeners, scheduling intakes, and assisting with the admissions process. This position supports the admissions and clinical teams through coordination of communication, ensuring proper intake documentation, and performing administrative tasks to help ensure timely access to care for individuals entering treatment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform clerical duties for Genesis program, including but not limited to telephone duties (receiving and placing calls), completing forms/documentation in EHR (consent forms, releases of information, etc.), and assisting with insurance coverage.
- Aid with coordinating admissions for persons entering the Genesis Program, to include priority populations (i.e. pregnant and IV substance users) and managing bed counts.
- Conduct admissions screenings and scheduling for Genesis residential program, as well as providing referral sources as needed based on recommended level of care.
- Coordinate communication between admissions staff, clinical staff, referral sources, clients, and/or family members.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certification as an Adult Peer Support Specialist or willingness to obtain certification within a 12 month period preferred
- Attest to having a minimum of one year personal recovery experience (if applicable)
- Preference given to individuals with one year experience in substance use/co-occurring field and previous receptionist, customer service, medical office, behavioral health, or admissions experience
- Must pass a Criminal Record Check and Sexual Offender Registry check
- Must present proof of a recent (less than 1-year-old) TB skin test
- Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and active auto insurance that meets state minimum requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS / EXPECTATIONS:
- Position is for a residential clinical treatment setting. Environment is fast-paced, client-focused, and may include exposure to individuals experiencing emotional distress, withdrawal symptoms, or behavioral instability. Requires ability to recognize such changes and respond appropriately, following crisis-prevention and de-escalation procedures.
- Position requires participation in ongoing training, supervision, and meetings to maintain skills and stay aligned with program expectations.

- Ability to communicate professionally, compassionately, and effectively with individuals experiencing mental health and substance use challenges.
- Position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, email systems, and electronic health records (EHR).
- Manage incoming calls, emails, and inquiries promptly and efficiently.
