Job Title: Off-Season General Help – Event Preparation
Location: Twin Cities – Mall of America
Pay Cycle: Weekly
FLSA/Status: Temporary, on-call (as needed)


Position Summary
This temporary, on-call role supports off-season preparation and maintenance for our events at Mall of America. Work hours are not guaranteed and will vary based on project needs throughout the year. This assignment does not affect eligibility for separate seasonal roles during peak event periods.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance & Inventory

  • Clean, inspect, repair, and inventory event equipment (tents, tables, chairs, AV equipment, signage).

  • Organize storage areas to maintain safety, accessibility, and order.

  • Load and unload event trailers for maintenance, storage, and reorganization.

Site Preparation & Improvements

  • Assist with groundskeeping, including mowing, raking, debris removal, and basic landscaping.

  • Perform minor repairs and painting on event infrastructure (fences, gates, stages, etc.).

  • Assist with updating or creating site maps and layouts for upcoming events.

Manual Labor & Logistics

  • Move, set up, and break down equipment, furniture, and event fixtures.

  • Clean and maintain event spaces and storage areas.

  • Support minor construction, repair, and painting projects as assigned.

Qualifications

General Requirements

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, bending, and standing for extended periods.

  • Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

  • Flexibility to assist with a wide variety of tasks as priorities shift throughout the off-season.

Employment Classification
This position is classified as temporary and on-call, in accordance with applicable labor laws. Scheduling will be based on operational needs, and there is no guarantee of a minimum number of hours. Temporary employees in this role remain eligible for separate seasonal assignments during event periods.
