SARA, Inc. is looking for a remarkably talented, motivated, and imaginative Inventory Control Specialist to support production activities out of our Colorado Springs, CO location. The candidate will have the opportunity to grow and learn with talented engineers, physicists, and technicians on long-standing programs and new programs supporting our customers.


The Inventory Control Specialist will be responsible for the organization of parts and materials related to the Production Engineering Team.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Receive items into inventory
  • Perform regular inventory counts
  • Communicate with various people within Supply Chain about status, issues, concerns, quantities
  • Maintain database of all items within area assigned
  • Able to give accurate inventory counts at all times
  • Lead and train people within their area
  • Ensure people are working in accordance with rules and regulations so no damage happens to inventory
  • Work with stock pickers to ensure the right materials are loaded correctly for movement
  • Maintain the inventory area
    • Clean, organize, and label per our ISO 9001 quality standards
  • Create product definitions, items, and parts within the MRP System
  • Locate suppliers and gather information about parts and services to be ordered
  • Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates to determine the best bid among potential suppliers
  • Input Manufacturing Bills of Material (MBOM) into the MRP System
  • Create purchase requisitions and track material lead times
  • Part cleaning and kitting prior to technician assembly
  • Clear understanding of Manufacturing and Sales Orders within the MRP System

 

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5 – 7 years inventory experience
  • Strong organization skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Procurement software, email)
  • US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance
  • May require light physical effort, involving standing, sitting and use of hands while performing duties, carrying or lifting up to 30 pounds
  • Working environment is indoor, moderately quiet, reasonably clean, well-lighted, and well-ventilated; moderate physical hazards may exist


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field
  • 8 – 10 years of relevant experience
  • Purchasing / Procurement experience
  • Experience using Deltek Costpoint (MRP System / Materials Module)
  • Active DoD or DoE security clearance
  • Forklift experience
  • Military experience

Pay Range

Salary at SARA is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $20 to $33 (hourly USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of SARA’s total compensation package for employees. Positions are on-site, unless indicated otherwise.
