Position Summary:
The OW Oven Operator is responsible for effectively performing all the required duties of the position in an accurate, thorough, and safe manner. Employees are responsible for producing a safe and quality food product per USDA guidelines and are required to report all food safety related problems to their Supervisor/Manager and/or to the Quality Assurance department to initiate immediate action.
DEPARTMENT: OLD WISCONSIN (SAUSAGE)
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow the HACCP program including developing a working knowledge of the Critical Control Points and Critical Limits as they pertain to the food safety of our product.
- Starts, stops, and regulates temperature of ovens.
- Push/pull racks in and out of the smokehouses, review processing schedules, operate smoke generators.
- Cleans related equipment, including ovens
- Inspects cooked product for obvious deficiencies during cooking process
- Measures or weighs racks of product during and/or after cook cycles.
- Takes responsibility of the work area to produce a safe and quality food product.
- Reports all food safety related problems to your supervisor, manager, or to the quality assurance department to initiate immediate action.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- Experience with Microsoft office (word, excel, power point, outlook).
- Able to professionally communicate with cross-functional departments.
- Possess a sense of urgency and attention to accuracy and detail.
- Capable of communicating both orally and in writing with people at all organizational levels.
- Capable of managing a variety of tasks simultaneously with rapidly changing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to work productively and effectively as part of a team
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work in temperatures of 40 degrees or less.
- Must be able to stand for 10 hours per day.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, and squat as needed for housekeeping responsibilities and other miscellaneous duties.
- Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.
- Must be able to work 40 or more hours per week.
- Must be able to work mandatory overtime if necessary.
- Must have good hand/eye coordination.
- Must be highly attentive to detail (i.e. meat type/film/date).
- Must adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
Pay rate for this position is $20.75 per hour.
