About the role

You'll play a key role in shaping the financial performance and future growth of bp's Mobility & Convenience business across Australia and New Zealand.

Working alongside senior business leaders, you'll provide commercial insight, challenge thinking, and help turn strategy into results. You'll use data, financial expertise, and market understanding to support decisions that improve performance, unlock growth opportunities, and create long-term value.

You'll also lead a team of finance professionals and contribute to the broader Asia Pacific finance leadership community, helping build capability and strengthen collaboration across the organisation.

This is an opportunity to influence major business decisions while working at the intersection of commercial strategy, finance, and operations.

What you'll do

Shape business performance

  • Partner with business leaders to find opportunities to improve performance and accelerate growth.
  • Support business planning, investment decisions, and pivotal initiatives.
  • Help ensure resources are allocated to activities that create the greatest value.

Turn insight into action

  • Analyse business performance, market trends, and commercial opportunities.
  • Provide clear financial recommendations that support effective decision-making.
  • Translate complex information into practical insights that enable action.

Support investment and growth

  • Evaluate investment opportunities and cases.
  • Use financial modelling and economic analysis to help prioritise opportunities.
  • Support decisions that balance growth, risk, and long-term value creation.

Strengthen governance and risk management

  • Promote strong financial stewardship and decision-making.
  • Identify potential risks and support effective mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure financial activities align with internal standards and regulatory requirements.

Lead and develop people

  • Build an inclusive, high-performing team where people can grow and do their best work.
  • Provide mentorship, feedback, and development opportunities.
  • Support capability building across the wider finance community.

Collaboration

  • Develop trusted partnerships with business, operational, and finance collaborators.
  • Work closely with regional and global teams to deliver shared goals.
  • Foster collaborative atmosphere, learning, and continuous improvement.

What you'll bring

Commercial and financial expertise

  • Strong commercial judgement and the ability to connect financial outcomes to business performance.
  • Experience evaluating investments, analysing business drivers, and supporting strategic decisions.
  • Understanding of financial governance, controls, and risk management principles.
  • Ability to utilise financial analysis and modelling to guide decisions and address business challenges.

Leadership and influence

  • Ability to inspire, develop, and support others to achieve shared goals.
  • Experience building trusted relationships across stakeholder network.
  • Confidence influencing decisions through insight, evidence, and collaboration.
  • Ability to navigate complexity and bring people together around solutions.

Communication and collaboration

  • Skilled at communicating sophisticated financial concepts in a clear and accessible way.
  • Strong listening, relationship-building, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Comfortable working across functions, cultures, and geographic locations.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Professional finance qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, or CIMA is beneficial.
