This team is looking to add another RN to provide perinatal care, PRN Resource Status. Resource hours begin with 6 months of steady orientation hours and then once fully oriented, the hours become casual/PRN. We are pleased to be able to deliver this service line to patients in Mason County and surrounding areas.
Top qualifiers for this opening will have previous bedside experience as an OB RN providing care for antepartum, labor & delivery, postpartum, and newborn patients.
Job summary: RN’s that are part of this well staffed team are known for their care of diverse patient populations. The team is a support system for perinatal patients being admitted for a short stay with us. Our volume of work is well balanced with this team of 16, and we average approximately 300 deliveries per year in Ludington’s Family Birthing Center. Nurse to Patient Ratios vary from 1:1 to 1:6 depending on patient acuity because we do everything from triage and antepartum, through labor and delivery, and postpartum couplet care. Each RN assigned up to 3 moms, 3 babies.
Usually 2-3 RN's working per shift + 1 Tech + Manager/Hospital Supv
Our Family Birthing Center is newly renovated to make the layout & design more user friendly.

Essential Functions
- Working day/night shift, variable schedule to fill in for others who are out, or come in during weeks where there is high volume of OB patients.
- Provides evidence-based nursing care consistent with the interprofessional plan of care and in accordance with health system policies, procedures, and ANA/regulatory standards. Communicates and collaborates with other members of the health care team to ensure continuity and coordination of care. Acts as a patient/family advocate. Performs point of care testing as required.
- Required Associate's Degree Nursing
- Required Bachelor's Degree of Science in Nursing must be obtained within 5 years
- Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program Required
- LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required Or
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required
- CRT-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required
- CRT-Fetal Heart Monitoring Certification - within 2 Yrs required
