Job Description

The Marina Ambassador is responsible for helping maintain a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment at the Johnsons Point recreational facilities, including the boat launch, docks, beach, gazebos, and surrounding area.

The primary responsibility of this position is to verify that all boats utilizing the launch area are properly registered and display current North Carolina Wildlife and HOA registration decals/stickers in accordance with HOA rules and regulations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Boat Launch & Registration Oversight

  • Monitor all activity at the boat launch area.
  • Verify that boats display current:
    • North Carolina Wildlife registration
    • HOA registration decals/stickers
  • Politely communicate HOA registration requirements to residents and guests.
  • Document boats lacking proper registration/decals.
  • Record vehicle and boat information.
  • Notify HOA Management regarding violations.

Facility Monitoring

  • Monitor the beach, docks, piers, gazebos, and recreational areas for:
    • Unauthorized use
    • Disorderly conduct
    • Unsafe behavior
    • Excessive noise
    • Vandalism
    • Safety hazards
    • Unauthorized fires or grills
    • Pets in restricted areas
  • Assist residents and guests with general information.
  • Help maintain a safe & family-friendly environment.

Work Schedule

  • Primarily weekends/holidays during the summer.
    • Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays from 11:00am - 7:00pm
  • Must be able to patrol recreational areas on foot.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum age: 18 years old
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • Basic report writing and documentation skills
  • Reliable transportation and punctual attendance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior security, HOA, marina, recreation, park attendant, or customer service experience
  • Experience dealing with the public in a professional environment

Compensation: ($20 - $23 hr) based on experience/qualifications.
