Key responsibilities
Grade 1 Radiographer / MIT – Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging services across X-ray, Mobile X-ray, Theatre and Fluoroscopy in accordance with ALARA principles and valid clinical requests.
- Ensure patient safety through accurate identification, correct positioning, and adherence to quality imaging standards.
- Participate in a 24/7 roster (excluding night shift/on-call allowances) and escalate equipment or clinical issues to senior staff as required.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment and undertake training in additional imaging modalities to build capability.
Grade 2 Radiographer / MIT – Key Responsibilities
- Independently perform advanced diagnostic imaging across all modalities, participating in a 24/7 roster including overtime, night shift and on-call.
- Maintain high standards of clinical governance, patient safety and quality assurance, including fault escalation and system management (RIS/PACS).
- Apply specialist knowledge in modalities such as CT, MRI, DSA or Mammography to support service excellence.
- Provide clinical supervision and training to Grade 1 Radiographers and medical imaging students.
What we’re looking for
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Medical Radiation Practitioner.
- Hold a valid Victorian Government, Department of Health Radiation ‘Use License’ to operate medical imaging equipment.
- Tertiary qualification recognised by the Australian Society of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (ASMIRT).
- Ability to work independently, triaging imaging examinations and maintaining throughput of medical imaging exams.
- Producing high quality medical imaging in a safe manner adhering to ALARA.
- Specialist knowledge/experience in any of the specialist modalities or areas of additional responsibility such as CT, MRI, DSA, Mammography, RIS/PACS.
- Demonstrate a broad range of knowledge, experience and competency in all routine, trauma and paediatric medical imaging examinations including X-ray, mobile X-ray, theatre image intensifier, fluoroscopy.
