SUMMARY

The Youth Manager will be responsible for creating personalized guest interactions in Fort Peaks, creating and executing exceptional Youth programming, overseeing activities, ensure the accuracy of the arrival and departure process, be competent in all budgetary financials, oversee arrival and departure of all guest children, coach Associates, and maintain proper record keeping.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Creating content and execution of Youth programming
  • Collaborate, organize and execute all youth events and activities for special occasions, holidays, summer and winter programs and special requests for groups and social functions. 
  • Develop, implement and maintain new procedures for the Fort Peaks operations that improve the member & guest experience. 
  • Collaborate with Mangers and Directors on Youth and Recreation programing.
  • Responsible for scheduling appropriate levels and managing labor during peaks and valleys of the seasons.
  • Oversees department cleanliness and department organization, ensuring highest standards are met.
  • Set the standard by providing exceptional guest service and meeting the members’ needs and expectations. 
  • Train Associates on the Youth Programs and Recreation experience. 
  • Competent handling of member or guest complaints in a professional manner. 
  • Properly communicate with the Club staff and guests all upcoming programs, offerings and family activities. Attend necessary meetings for constant communication with other departments
  • Maintain Standard Operating Procedure and training program for the Youth and Fort Peaks programs. 
  • Knowledge of winter & summer mountain sports (snowshoeing, skiing, cross country skiing, mountain biking, fishing, hiking, archery, and more) as it would relate to children and Adults.
  • Ability to be hands on when needed for camp, hiking, biking, cross country, snowshoe, and park tours.
  • They will be a primary resource regarding local mountain conditions, weather, ski trails, lift access points, and dining options on property and around the mountain. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • College Degree or educational equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years working experience with children preferred
  • Passion for engaging, educating children as well as recreation and the great outdoors
  • 2 years of managerial experience preferred
  • Luxury hospitality experience is a plus
  • Strong passion for customer service; experience handling and resolving guest or associate concerns in a timely manner
  • Must be organized
  • Strong verbal communication skills-ability to communicate effectively with guests and vendors
  • Have a vast array of knowledge about recreational activities applicable to the area.
  • Able to become CPR/ First Aid Certified, DOT certified, and other certifications needed in the department.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including weekend, evenings, and holidays. 
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

Work tasks are performed indoors and outdoors. Temperature generally is moderate and controlled by Club environmental systems; however, must be able to work in extreme temperatures, possibly for one hour or more. Position requires walking; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 7 hours in length. Length of time of these tasks may vary from day to day and task to task. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach different outlets and other departments of the Club on a timely basis. Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, running, repetitive motions, and bending.
